ZEBRA TATAMI SERIES

Quality, durability, and reliability have made ZEBRA Mats the international standard for martial arts and fitness facilities of all sizes.

ZEBRA Tatami mats are available in 25 mm, 40 mm and 50 mm thicknesses, in 1 × 1 m and 2 × 1 m formats, allowing flexible configuration for any training space.

At the core of every mat is a 100% recycled, multi-density, open-cell foam, bonded using a proprietary adhesive process that supports a 15-year product life expectancy. The open-cell structure ensures complete climate stability — mats will not expand or contract with temperature changes. In addition, they help reduce noise and provide natural insulation, contributing to lower utility costs.

The exterior features a reinforced, closed-cell vinyl surface certified phthalate-free and treated with an antimicrobial finish to help inhibit the growth of microorganisms. Hand-finished corners create moisture-resistant seams, while a natural rubber anti-skid base enhances floor grip and stability.

Installation is straightforward and requires no special tools, chemicals, or adhesives, making the system suitable for professional installation or DIY setup.

25 mm Tatami Mats

Designed primarily for stand-up martial arts and fitness training, the 25 mm version offers a firm, responsive surface ideal for kicks, spins, and dynamic movement. It provides sufficient shock absorption for occasional falls and takedowns, making it a popular choice for Karate, Taekwondo, Kung-Fu schools, group fitness studios, and multi-purpose athletic facilities.

40 mm & 50 mm Tatami Mats

The 40 mm and 50 mm options are engineered for higher-impact disciplines involving throws, slams, and intensive grappling. They deliver increased shock absorption while maintaining enough firmness for stand-up techniques. In many cases, additional subflooring is minimal or unnecessary.

These thicknesses are widely used in professional MMA and combat sports training centers, Jiu-Jitsu academies, hybrid striking/grappling programs, and law enforcement training facilities.

Tatami-surfaced mats are denser and slightly firmer than smooth-surface versions, offering enhanced grip for fast, controlled movement.
Foam density of Tatami surface mats: approx. 230 kg/m³.
